The romantic view of the war was vastly different from the realistic view of the war. By Lachlan Seeto
The romantic view of the war
Romanticism played a big role during the first war. It helped promote the cause of war, gathered in more troops and kept places at a calm state otherwise the war would have become much more chaotic. Some ways, which Romanticism was presented, were from propaganda posters, persuasive leaders and officials and the wide known community.
Propaganda posters gave an affect to many young men as an extra bit of guilt, which was lurking among the many streets. These ranged from guilty country betrayal posters to leaving your mates to die as heroes but you did nothing. The posters weren’t always directed to towards young men and troops but towards people at home being instructed to use less materials because the men at thee front needed it most.
